My Favorite Pics From The New York Store Opening!

Here are some of my favorite shots from the party we had for the New York store opening.

I couldn't get over how great the windows of the store turned out.

This is one of my best friends in the world, Simone Shubuck. I was so excited to have her participate in the store by creating the collage wall behind her. Here she is with her husband, Adam Rapoport, the Editor-in-Chief of Bon Appétit, which looks better than ever these days.

Mamie, the star of our film, was there, photographed here with my friend Steven Alan and Waris Ahluwalia, who I met that night and is such a warm, sweet person.

I was happy to see these two Editors-at-Large from Vogue, Jane Herman and Florence Kane, come by. I first met Jane a few months ago when she came to my studio to shoot me for their new site Jean Stories, which I'm so excited to see when it launches next week.

Always nice to have good friends at the party, especially these three who came all the way from L.A.  Greta has done a ton of work setting up the New York store, Joanna is sporting her Mexican flag clutch and Heather looks great with her Black Pelli.

It was nice to see Mike D. again. I was such a huge fan of the Beastie Boys back in the day.

The beautiful Gummer sisters. Mamie starred in our film, I got to tell Grace that I'm a huge fan of hers on The Newsroom and Louisa is now working in our New York store.

My friend Melissa Coker of Wren brought her friend, actress Nora Zehetner to the party.

Such a fun night. It's great to look back at all these pictures.

Clare V. Opens in NYC!

I was thrilled to see how many lovely mentions our new New York Store got on some of our favorite sites. See who's been talking about #ClareVNYC!

BlackBook gave a fashionable recap of our opening night party, along with their favorite pics from the new store. I love this shot of Mamie in our video. She's got all of her CV bags on one of the prettiest streets in the West Village.

Style.com had a first look inside the store, sharing a the Barbara Bestor-designed interior with their readers. Here's a look at our black and blue wall!

I spoke with Elle.com writer Lauren Sherman, who wrote up a great piece about me, the history of the company and where we're headed.

I blushed when I read that Marie Claire had a girl crush on me!

I shared my handbag how-to's with Glamour and was so happy to see this picture of me and Mamie from the opening party!

T Magazine zoomed in on the Simone Shubuck collage wall in the NY store that features some of my favorite images, including old photos, sketches by my son Oscar and inspiration images.

Come visit us at 239 Elizabeth Street and read even more about the opening in NY here.

Crafting In Palm Springs

We’re very excited about our new Grace Lee collaboration pieces coming soon. Undyed leather with hand-painted edges and 14-karat gold buckle. Available exclusively at both CV stores - Los Angeles and New York (did you hear me, I said New York, still can't believe my ears.)

I had the good fortune of being a guest artist at Karen Kimmel’s Crafting Community Workshop in Palm Springs this past weekend where I taught leather crafts. Contrary to the past when they’ve only used part of the hotel, this year the crafting community took over the entire hotel, so it was really nice for families to let their kids run around. We made belts and a slightly more artisanal version of Grace Lee’s wrist wrap (above), using undyed leather and leather paints, which I love to work with.

It was fun to meet the beautiful television writer, Mara Akil, who stopped by and made this beautiful necklace.

This crazy crafting table was led by the talented Cathy Callahan of Cathy of California. She was making brightly-colored yarn tassels and had one of the best tables at the workshop.

I ran into two bloggers, The Littlest's Elizabeth Antonia and A House in the Hills blogger Sarah Yates clutching a La Tropezienne, both in perfect dresses for the desert.

I always enjoy going to the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, designed by our friends at Commune. I love how the posters are hanging by clips on the wall.

I also got to spend a little bit of my time relaxing by the pool with Oscar.

One of my favorite crafts that I came away from the weekend with was my paracord wrap bracelet.
