My September Paris Diary

Last week I headed back to Paris for a chance to present my Spring collection. I wanted to share a few special shots from my short—but sweet—adventure.

This is one item we’re particularly excited about for Spring ’14. Those are our graphic designer Lizzie’s handpainted dots that we had printed on the bag.

This is me in the elevator going up to my sister-in-law's apartment. I love how you can see my Grace Lee Jewelry, my Burberry trench, and the Go See bag I'm wearing as a cross-body.

I was crossing Rue du Louvre and I saw Russian blogger-turned-street style sensation Miroslava Duma from across the street and I had to take her picture. She looked so incredibly beautiful in her colorblocked outfit, perfect for Fall. She is tiny!

This was the view from the hotel suite where we were showing the line and I just couldn’t stop sneaking a peek out the window.

Another one of my favorite prints we’re doing for Spring ’14. It’s a big cotton tote with rope handles that I love. We worked a lot with printing on canvas for Spring ’14 because it was an easier way for us to explore our original print designs.

Inside my sister-in-law's apartment in the 7^th arrondisement, one of my favorite places to visit while I’m in Paris. Here, she had brought back a harvest of apples from the Vivier family compound in the Loire Valley just in time for a Fall feast.

I stepped right outside my hotel and was so excited to run into CFDA Americans in Paris designers Greg Chait of The Elder Statesman and the loveliest Jen Meyer, fellow Angelenos in Paris.  I also met George Esquivel and Andrea Lieberman of A.L.C., who were presenting with the CFDA in Paris, too.

I came across a beautiful mosaic tile floor in the galerie of the Jardin du Palais Royale and I was transfixed by the pattern play.

How beautiful is the light hitting the Conseil d'Etat in the afternoon? (Fun fact: The Conseil was established by Napoleon and now acts as a legal adviser of the executive branch of the French  national government.)

When I'm in Paris, Astier de Villatte is one of my favorite shops to stop into. They have a beautiful selection of ceramics, candles, furniture and I loved the font and pattern on this candle.

I love French handwriting and the whole menu at Chez George was written by hand, which is so beautiful. It was the best ratatouille apart from my mother-in-law's, and we shared their signature steak frites, which was delicious. It was my favorite meal on this trip.
